High Tech Racing Engines

I was looking through the old website archives and found the Comptech websites full of old history.  There is just too much to mention.  For example did you know that in 2000 Comptech had 11Comptech engines racing in the Indianapolis 500?  In fact Comptech prepared engines took first place with Juan Montoya, seventh place with Jimmy Vasser, tenth place with Scott Sharp, etc. etc..  Also, in 2000 the Longhorn 500 Indy race Scott Sharp won with a Comptech prepared engine and Robby McGehee took second with a Comptech prepared engine.  Their engines also placed fourth and sixth.   That is what is called Comptech Race Engine domination.  It is too bad the Honda took over the series a few years later ousting all the independent engine builders such as Comptech.

Without hesitation I can say that Comptech Racing Engines has been an important part of the history (in the late 1990′s and early 2000′s) of the Indianapolis 500 race.
