As most know, Comptech has built some great Honda race engines over the years. Honda race engines are synonomous with Comptech. Today I would like to talk about NSX race engines built by Comptech. This could be a long blog about all the championships Comptech has won and the quality and power Comptech puts in the Honda Race Engines (though now Comptech is really excited to be focasing on the Mazda race engines). The proof of Comptech’s staying power with Honda Race Engines, Mazda Race Engines and NSX Race Engines is to look at You Tube. All you have to do is type in Comptech race engine and there are a lot of real cool video’s of the popular Comptech race engines. You can even type in Honda race engine or NSX race engine or Honda racing engine on You Tube and Comptech pops up quite a bit.
So let me give you a few searches on You Tube to watch some cool Comptech racing engine stuff. The best video’s are of the experimental Grand Am Comptech Honda NSX engine. When in You Tube type in the following: 1.) Beyer Racing Comptech Honda 2.) Comptech Honda Daytona Race Engine 3.) Comptech Honda Daytona Prototype Race Engine. Turn the volume up on the Infenion shake down practice run video. Listen to that Comptech Honda race engine roar.
Some other fun video’s to watch on You Tube are as follows. Type in the following search: 1.) NSX Gone Wild official trailer 2.) Comptech supercharged NSX racing 3.) NSX CTS (Comptech Supercharged) 4.) Comptech Race Engines
Have fun looking at some cool Comptech tuned engines on You Tube. Whether you are a race team or street cruiser, Comptech can build or prepare your winning engine. Go to the comptechusa.com website and learn more.

I was looking through the old website archives and found the Comptech websites full of old history. There is just too much to mention. For example did you know that in 2000 Comptech had 11Comptech engines racing in the Indianapolis 500? In fact Comptech prepared engines took first place with Juan Montoya, seventh place with Jimmy Vasser, tenth place with Scott Sharp, etc. etc.. Also, in 2000 the Longhorn 500 Indy race Scott Sharp won with a Comptech prepared engine and Robby McGehee took second with a Comptech prepared engine. Their engines also placed fourth and sixth. That is what is called Comptech Race Engine domination. It is too bad the Honda took over the series a few years later ousting all the independent engine builders such as Comptech.
Without hesitation I can say that Comptech Racing Engines has been an important part of the history (in the late 1990′s and early 2000′s) of the Indianapolis 500 race.

Just a few cool updates on the Comptech race engines. In April actor Patrick Dempsey got behind the wheel of a Comptech prepared engine Mazda 3 at Long Beach. What a pleasure to have Patrick use the Comptech power under his feet. For further details about this see www.comptechusa.com
On a similar note Michael Cooper won the Mazda Mx-5 Cup on June 27th at the New Jersey Motorsports Park. All race cars in the SCCA Pro Racing Mazda Mx-5 Cup are Comptech powered and prepared Mazda Racing Engines. If you want to race jump into this series, it is competitive and fun. Plus you get to jump behind a Comptech powered Mazda MX-5. Hey Patrick Dempsey drove a Comptech powered Mazda, why can’t you?

Jeff and I had a good visit this week-end with Goodyear, as Penney Racing is the exclusive short track rep. for Goodyear west of the Mississippi. At PRS we not only build quality race engines at our sister company Comptech Race Engines, but we distribute the Goodyear racing tire to short tracks throughout the west coast. We met with our friends from Goodyear at the track in Sonoma while the K&N West series race was going on and the Nextel Cup was qualifying and practicing. The K&N Pro Series was an exciting race to watch!
Comptech builds high performing racing engines for those who want great performance. The professional’s can be reached at 916-338-3434.

This past week-end Eric Holmes of BMR racing, a local team from the Antelope / Sacramento, California area, won in Roseberg Oregon. It is not just the race engine or race car or race car driver that wins, it is the whole team. It is a team effort. At Comptech Race Engines and Penney Racing Supply, we are proud that a local team such as BMR racing went to victory lane. Holmes won the Nascar K&N Pro Series West Race at Roseberg Oregon, taking victory there for a third time.
At Penney racing supply and Comptech race engines we use that same team effort to produce high quality race winning engines. Our goal is to win as many races as we can with our Comptech racing engines. Not only do we build quality race engines, Penney Racing Supply (sister company to Comptech Race Engines) also is the west coast distributor of Goodyear short track racing tires. We will see you out at Infineon Raceway to watch Holmes try to win another race in the Thunder Valley Casino Resort 200. There Penney Racing Supply will also meet with our Goodyear friends.
